Tara is the Founder and European Director. A joint UK/Irish citizen holding an Indian OCI card, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Queens University, Belfast, Ireland and a Master’s degree in Linguistics from Albert-Ludwig University, Freiburg, Germany. After an extensive corporate career including international managerial roles, she has stepped aside to dedicate her skills to empowering India’s rural poor.
Jessica founded United for Hope’s U.S. branch in 2017 and is creating a team there to expand our international base. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance. Jessica joined United for Hope in 2014 and prepared financial reports for the European branch. Since returning to her native U.S., she has continued her work for the organisation
Julia is a co-founder and board member. She graduated from LMU Munich and the School of Oriental and African Studies in London with a master’s degree in South Asian area studies and law with a focus on human and women's rights. She has worked for several NGOs in Germany and abroad and has hands-on experience in marketing and NGO administration
Faisal Al Rashid
Faisal is responsible for United for Hope’s village energy solution. He is an electrical engineer and graduated from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia, specialising in renewable energy. He was also part of a team that developed the first solar car in the Middle East.
Vikas Malik is the Director of Indian Operations. Holding a law degree from The University of Delhi, he works as a lawyer at the High Court of Haryana & Punjab. Vikas uses his close ties to India’s legal and political fraternity to help his fellow countrymen who are in need.
Gyanvardhan Govind Rao
Gyanvardhan is United for Hope’s Senior Project Manager. He holds a post graduate diploma in journalism and mass communication from DDU University, Gorakhpur. He has been with the organisation since April 2015 and is the main point of contact between villagers, local field staff, and Indian and international management..
Payal grew up locally and started with United for Hope as an intern. She learned in leaps and bounds and is now Field Manager. With a Masters Degree in commerce and a deep knowledge of the rural Indian environment especially in relation to the status of women, she is our key connection with the beneficiaries of our projects
Kamal strengthens United for Hope’s networking, legal compliance and partnerships with corporates as well as Government of India bodies. In this role, he uses his experience in consultancy and advocacy work. Kamal is a law graduate from Punjab University, Chandigarh and has his own law firm with presence in Chandigarh and Delhi.
Yasmeen leads our Education pillar as Senior Program Manager. She holds a degree in Chemistry from Delhi University and teacher training from the University of Cambridge. With a career spanning from banking to start-ups to education in some of India’s and Dubai’s premier schools, Yasmeen is responsible for both everyday operations but also continually investing in the quality of our educational content and delivery.
Kate is a copywriter for United for Hope and lends her skills to write and edit website text, business plans, newsletters and anything else the organisation needs to communicate with its audience. She met Tara in 2015, and was inspired by her vision for an empowered rural India. Kate lives in Munich and works as a freelance business writer.
Manish is responsible for United for Hope's web development and other technical projects. He is a computer engineer with a specialisation in web and app development. Manish holds a post-graduate degree in computer applications and works as a product manager in Delhi.
Sandip is responsible for fund-raising, partnership-building and managing United for Hope's technology platform. He is a telecommunications engineer passionate about using technology for social change. Sandip is a graduate of BITS Pilani, India and Telecom ParisTech, France.
