Tara MCCartney — Founder and Director
Tara is a joint UK/Irish citizen and Indian OCI card holder. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Queen’s University Belfast and a Master’s degree in Linguistics from the University of Freiburg. After an extensive corporate career during which she held international managerial roles, she has stepped aside to dedicate her skills to India’s rural development.
Julia HollaendeR — Co-founder and board member
Julia graduated from LMU Munich and the School of Oriental and African Studies with a Master’s degree in South Asian studies and Law, with a focus on human and women's rights. She has worked for several INGOs in Germany and abroad and has experience in research, advocacy, and project coordination.
VIKAS MALIK — Director of indian operations
Vikas holds a degree in Law from the University of Delhi and works as a lawyer at the High Court of Haryana and Punjab. He uses his close ties to India’s legal and political fraternity to help those who need it the most and contribute to the country’s development.
Gyanvardhan Govind Rao — senior project manageR
Gyanvardhan holds a post-graduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication from DDU University, Gorakhpur. He joined United for Hope in April 2015 and is the main point of contact between beneficiaries, field staff, press bodies, Indian and international management.
PRITI VAISHNAV — education program manageR
Priti completed her Doctorate in International Relations and Political Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University. She has extensive experience in humanitarian and development work, having held key roles with INGOs and UN agencies in the field of conflict resolution, rural development and education. She is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of our Education program.
krishna kushwaha — accountant and operations manager
Krishna holds a Bachelor of Commerce. He takes care of accounting and supports our daily operations, with a focus on projects in the areas of Community Services and Social Enterprises.
Faisal Al Rashid — Engineer and Technical Manager
Faisal is an electrical engineer and graduated from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia, specialising in renewable energy. He was part of a team that developed the first solar car in the Middle East. He is responsible for United for Hope’s Smart Village energy solutions.
JESSICA MASTERS — EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, US BRANCH
Jessica is a finance professional with over 13 years of experience in the sector. She joined United for Hope in 2014, preparing financial reports for the European branch. She then continued her work for the organisation, opening United for Hope’s US branch in 2017 and expanding our international base there.
KAMAL Dahiya — legal advisor
Kamal is a Law graduate from Punjab University, Chandigarh and runs his own law firm with presence in Chandigarh and Delhi. He uses his experience in consultancy and advocacy work to strengthen our networking, legal compliance and corporate partnerships, as well as our relations with Government bodies.
sofia minetto — project and communications coordinator
Sofia has a background in translation, languages and cultural studies and holds a Diploma in Project Management for International Cooperation and Development. She oversees our communications strategy, provides support to the Grants and Project Development team, and contributes to the Education program in terms of content development, outreach and overall management.
Kate is a freelance copywriter and business writer based in Munich. She met Tara in 2015 and was inspired by her vision of an empowered rural India. Since then, she has been lending her skills to write and edit United for Hope’s website content, business plans, newsletters and a variety of communications material.
Manish is a software engineer with a specialisation in web and app development. He holds a post-graduate degree in Computer applications and works as a product manager in Delhi. He provides essential support with United for Hope's website development and graphic design tasks.
Sandip is a telecommunications engineer who is passionate about using technology for social change. He is a graduate of BITS Pilani, India and Telecom ParisTech, France. At United for Hope, he is responsible for fundraising, partnership-building and managing the organisation’s technology platform.
